Apparently we have two choices: graphic design or marriage. think of the girls you know who didn't make it into the program, are they married? probably. Meredith, Emily White, Becca, Katie, married. Jenny, Libby, Tara, Angie, Ashley, single. Even Julia, a newlywed, only made it a few days before she quit. We will need to get a count from the new Juniors to confirm my theory, but I'm pretty sure it will be consistent. We are married to our work, girls, get used to some long lonely nights.

i found this whilst going through some files on my ipod.

i laughed out loud to myself for a couple minutes. again. because i did the first time when i made this little e-vite. maybe it's why only three or four people came to the party... i don't know. but i really think this is one of the funniest things i've ever seen. freaky and weird. but funny. i found these quirky photos when i searched google images for "pizza party" -- this was on some guy's blog. he was documenting a pizza party he had just had with some squirrels at the local park.

anyway, i couldn't resist posting this.

Not only did I see a Song airplane on the LaGuardia airstrip, but whilst perusing an exhibit at the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum, there was a display on our beloved friend, the Target pharmacy labels. OK! I GET IT!

However, I work with a dude who went through the SVA undergrad program, and he gives it a rating of "eh, it was alright. They don't really teach you anything... [because all they do is keep telling us how this one girl redesigned Target's pharmacutical lables and revolutionized the entire world and how we should revolutionize the world too, one easy-to-read label at a time.]"

He didn't really say that last part, but I'm taking editorial liberty to include it, because he said it in his eyes.

Tonight a few of us went to Muse music to see our good friend Austin Taylor play a show. Unfortunately, this is what we saw instead:

there was a couple dancing, alone, in the middle of the floor THE WHOLE TIME. SERIOUSLY and the girl wore really bad pants (see video)

i made extended eye contact with the girl a couple times and i had to physically restrain myself from laughing out right or giving her a dirty look. Jenny was being offered $200 to cut in. after the 3rd song or so (the couple danced through every single one, by the way) austin said "the winners of the dance contest are couple number 13! everyone give them a hand" they didn't get the hint and continued to dance totally off beat for the next hour. i didn't mind it most of the time, it was pretty entertaining, it was just the grinding that made me uncomfortable. there was no way you could fit a book of mormon in between them, even a pocket-sized one.

as i type right now i am uploading the other videos to google video (the files are too big for youtube). they are hi-larious. sometime go on google video and search for "stupid dancing couple acoustic guitar" and you should get it

I had the WEIRDEST dream last night. And you were all in it. We were trapped in a mall after hours...Jon and Keenan made thousands of water balloons and chucked them at the rest of us from the top level of said mall. I think they made so many that water soon covered the bottom floor so we were all boating around in mini-canoes. I recall Nick sledding down some stairs on some plastic lid thing. Zack was eating a burger? It reminded me a little of that episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark... Watch it Here.

Except we weren't in a video game. And the kid didn't have a mini-canoe. Do any of you remember that show? My dad and I used to have dates on Saturday nights and he would take me to get ice cream and then we'd watch Are You Afraid of the Dark together... because I got too scared if I watched it by myself. (I was like 10. This was not recent)

it's more like this though

so this one time my family and i were playing Jeopardy (the home game). It was double jeopardy and I picked the category art (duh) for like 1600. the answer was like "this artist made a poster promoting piece that depicted an ocean wave turning into doves" or something along those lines. I had just taken history of graphic design but i just couldn't remember Mac Magleby's name. It was driving me crazy because I KNEW it i had just SEEN the poster like a month or so before. My brother, who had read the card and could see the answer just laughed at me the whole time I was trying to remember aloud because I was way off, apparently. Finally I gave up and he read the answer "Pablo Picasso." WHA??? Jeopardy is whack.

tonight, instead of reading that 800-page tax packet for eric's class, jenny and i (and her friend) went out to eat. and found out why we should all hide our styrofoam cups from jenny. and our grilled cheese.

you can't really tell, but she has scratched "jenny" "willardson" "grilled cheese" "libby" and a nickname for her friend that i can't remember all into the surface of the cup while we were waiting for our food.

the last one is the puncture wound caused by jenny's scratching.

afterwards i went to target, which is like my new haven. seriously, if you are ever feeling down, go to target and just look at stuff and it'll make you feel better about design and life in general. (don't click on the pictures, they just go to photobucket, i was feeling lazy.)
